Major San Francisco thoroughfares close Friday after two fire trucks collide – SF Gate

Two fire trucks collided at the intersection of Laguna and Lombard streets on March 18, 2022.
Two fire trucks responding to a report of a structure fire in San Francisco near the Marina District collided Friday afternoon, shuttering two major thoroughfares, officials said.
San Francisco Fire Department Lt. Jonathan Baxter said engines 16 and 38 crashed into one another at the intersection of Lombard and Laguna streets just after noon. There were no injuries. The fire trucks and some surrounding parked cars were damaged.
Baxter said the fire turned out to be a false alarm.
The cause of the collision between the engines is under investigation.
Portions of Lombard and Laguna in Pacific Heights were closed as of 1 p.m., and Baxter said the streets could be shut to traffic for several more hours while the investigation takes place.
